William McKinley was elected the 25th President of the United States in November of 1896. Elected with McKinley was his Vice President Garret Hobart. In 1899, Hobart died. At the Republican National Convention in 1900, Theodore Roosevelt joined McKinley on the GOP ticket.  Pictured here are William McKinley campaign buttons from his 1896 and 1900 campaigns.
