Bush Has Lead In Latest 2016 Poll

Jeb Bush for president campaign button. June 22, 2015 - After officially announcing last week that he was a presidential candidate, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush is leading his fellow Republicans in the 2016 race for the GOP nomination. Bush has the support of 22% of those polled followed by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker with 17%.

In third place is Bush's fellow Floridian Senator Marco Rubio with 14%. This poll is consistent with other polls that show at the moment the race for the Republican nomination is between Bush, Walker and Rubio. However since their level of support is not overwhelming it is encouraging the roughly dozen other Republicans in the race that the nomination is very much up for grabs.

In fourth place is Dr. Ben Carson with 11% followed in fifth place by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee with 9%. Huckabee is no stranger to presidential politics as he ran in 2008 and won the Iowa caucuses.

In sixth place is Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky with 7% followed by former Governor Rick Perry with 5%. Tied for eight place are Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with 4% each.

Only ten participants will be invited to the first GOP presidential debate to be held in August in Cleveland. In this all important tenth place if former CEO Carly Fiorina who right now has a real shot to be included in the first presidential debate should she be able to hold onto the tenth spot. Fiorina is currently at 2%.

The next six candidates in the poll are those that are facing the very real possibility that they may not be included in that first debate. In a three way tie for eleventh place with 1% each are real estate entrepreneur Donald Trump, Senator Lindsay Graham of South Caroline and Ohio Governor John Kasich.

Rounding out the bottom of the poll and scoring zero percent of support are Louisianan Governor Bobby Jindal, former Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former New York Governor George Pataki.
